Heat a large pot over medium heat, and add a bit of olive oil. Sauté the chopped onions and garlic until they become transparent.

Add the paprika, salt, pepper, cumin, and chilli powder by stirring. The flavors start to mix at this point.
To the pot, add the black beans, diced tomatoes, and vegetable broth after draining and rinsing them.
The mixture is heated until it boils, then it is simmered. Cook the sweet potatoes under cover for 15 to 20 minutes, or until they are soft.
To partially mix the soup while maintaining some lumps for texture, use an immersion blender. Alternately, you might remove a portion of the soup from the pot, mix it, and then add it back.
Taste the food, check the seasoning, and, if necessary, add additional salt, pepper, or spices.
Simmer the soup for an additional 5-10 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
